1880

Valentin Fraas founds the company V. Fraas in Wüstenselbitz, a small village in Upper Franconia with a long textile tradition, and begins production of scarfs, kerchiefs, shawls and wool blankets.

1894

Valentin's son Christian Fraas takes over the company reigns. At the turn of the century V.Fraas employs about 100 workers.

1950-60

Arthur Fraas, Christian's Son, continues the expansion of the company and builds the first factory building in Wüstenselbitz. The family utilizes the economic miracle of the 50's to forge the first international connections.

1970-80

In the 70's the production capacity is expanded. In 1980 the leadership of the company is taken over by Dr. Robert Schmidt, Arthur Fraas' son-in-law.

1982

The company grows further to become an internation manufacturer and supplier of textile accessories. Branch offices are established in New York, Toronto, London and Hong Kong.

1985

V. Fraas introduces the brand Cashmink®. This high quality acrylic scarf is so soft that it is often equated to natural cashmere Cashmink® soon becomes the most-sold scarf in the world.

1991-97

With partners in the Czech Republic and Poland V. Fraas moves into the important East European market and expands with branch offices in Japan, Korea and Russia.

1997

V. Fraas acquires ownership of the well-known company Jammers & Leufgen and thereby expands its product portfolio to include silk scarves and shawls.

2000-03

A total of seventy V. Fraas stores are opened in the People's Republic of China and company-owned production facility for knitted accessories is established.

2005

V. Fraas celebrates ist 125th anniversary. All at the same time the first "Flagship Store" for accessories is opened in Berlin, the sales office in Shanghai is expanded and the consolidation of a sales network in India is begun.

2006

With the opening of five stores the brand "FRAAS" is introduced into the German market. The new internet presence www.fraas.com including an online shop goes online.

2007

V. Fraas is established around the world in 25 locations and engages 600 employees, 300 of which are at locations in Germany.

2008

The new corporate segment "Solutions in Textile" is created. The new internet presence www.solutions-in-textile.com goes online and a production facility especially for this purpose is opened in Hof/Saale.

V. Fraas Solutions in Textile is a founding member of the consortium TUDALIT®.

2009

Solutions in textile is taken part for the first time in the Techtextil trade fair in Frankfurt/Main.

2010

The brand SITgrid is officially registered.

2011

Solutions in textile invests in a new coating unit in Helmbrechts.

The German Institute for Building Technology has granted Hering Bau in Burbach approval for the facing panel system betoShell® BIG (with SITgrid) for general construction purposes.

2012

V. Fraas Solutions in Textile GmbH is registered as a subsidiary of V. Fraas GmbH with managing directors Alexander Schmidt and Roy Thyroff.

Solutions in Textile wins the prize for innovation of the concrete construction elements supplying industry.
